Camera (and blog): Temporarily Out of Order

Here's the story: One day last week I was taking photos of some candies I was making for Easter--recipes to be shared here--and my shutter just quit working after I snapped off about two photos.  I am told by the camera experts this is not good news--at all.  I am told to expect camera repair bills upwards of $200.  I am told my camera may be out of commission for 6-8 weeks while it is being repaired.

So, I guess that leaves me to tell all of you that I will not be around here the next few weeks while I await the repair of my beloved camera.  I am taking this as an opportunity to finally do some of that work around my house I have been meaning to do--painting, repairing cracks in plaster, making some new roman blinds for our bedroom...without the happy distraction of this blog and my camera sidekick.

I have lots of blogging plans though for the summer--some new toy designs, new tutorials already in the works...so, really, please consider this an extended spring break.  Me and my camera--once recovered--will return.  See you in early June and enjoy your spring.

Seems I'm not the only one! My camera lens died on me this past week, leaving me with just my phone to take photos until the new charger for my little camera comes in the mail. I like your positive spin on it. I too have some projects around the house that are in need of attention.

That's weird, my camera died yesterday too...not that is was unexpected, it was more than 9 years old...the lettering was worn off the dials and it made a sick sort of warbled bong when it started up the last couple years...it back from the days when 5 megapixels was the new thing...
More than 10,000 pictures on that point n shoot....but really, is there some sort of conspiracy going on that so many cameras are dying?

Shoot for $200 I think I'd get a new camera - but then I just bought one on the internet for $13 - so obviously I'm not a "pro" at all.

I'm just getting started. My first task is to take pictures of some of the statues around Omaha. One i have in mind is at the Children's Hospital and it's a sculpture of individual children with umbrellas floating up. They all have different lights & patterns shining up on them. I thought I'd make it tough on myself and work my way down.

Have fun doing stuff around the house - I keep thinking I need to have 1 or 2 days a week I don't touch the computer. Don't think it's going to happen! LOL

happy Spring!
